Time Tables

Hello friends,

It's been ages since my last post.
Next week I will start teaching my kids the time tables. Some of them already know and have a very good grasp of multiplication, but I intend to do it more fun.
I found some great songs in Spanish  to play during transitions and hopefully the kids will love them and we will all sing the multiplication songs.
I leave the link so you can check them out.

And please if you have a fun way to teach multiplication, please share it here.

They are from CANCIONES PARA CRECER and they shared them in YouTube, aren they nice?

Hello friends,

I have been busy busy busy and haven't had the time to blog. Being new to a grade level is not easy, I have lots of things to learn.
I have completed 4 weeks in 3rd grade and I do love my students! They are sweet, nice and excited about everything!
I was nervous because it is the first time I teach 8-9 year old kids, but I am loving it.

It has been raining a lot in the city, so outdoor recess is not an option, we have been doing GoNoodle, it is GREAT! All my students love it.

If you are in need of a brain break, indoor recess activities or just for fun try GoNoodle, I am sure you will love it, too.

Here's the link if you want to try it, it is free. Your students will thank you :)

Math rotation cards

This is how it looks by now, I still need to hang the banner on top and add names to the groups. I will probably use sticky notes to be able to change names as I need.

Back to School Bilingual Blog Hop and Shopping Spree!!

I am so exhausted today!! I haven't been the "new teacher" in almost eight years and New Teacher Orientation is killing me!!
But the good thing is I have this wonderful BTS Bilingual blog hop to cheer me up.
A great group of bilingual educators has a shopping spree give away and two lucky teachers are going to be the winners!
Fill out the rafflecopter below to enter.

Please do not forget about yourselves during these first weeks of school. Teachers tend to be very perfectionist and work at home after school, but we need to rest or we'll burn out and end up not liking our career.
There are many things we can do for avoiding teacher burnout, I will list some of them:

1. Meditate
2. Eat slowly and enjoy our food.
3. Laugh with your students
4. Take a long bath and spoil yourself
5. Spend quality time with your family (or pet)
6. Read for pleasure (not school related)

The school and our students will be there tomorrow, they don't need pretty things or walls covered with anchorcharts, they need a well rested teacher who cares for them. You don't have to finish everything today, take a rest and enjoy your school year!

Here's a little gift for you so you can relax for at least one day each month :)
Writing papers, two for each month!!

Dont forget to visit the rest of the blogs and fill out the rafflecopter. GOOD LUCK!!

Tito has a new home!!

Welcome to my new blog! I am excited to start this new blog, content will be the same, but we have a new house.  And yes indeed my dog has also a new home, we are now living in an apartment after selling my house. Let's see how he behaves in an apartment... well, enough about Tito.

It was a little confusing to have a blog and a TpT store with a different name, somehow it was not working very well. Like I said before,  I am in the process of taking this more seriously and I am doing it.
So now I will have a FB page, TpT store, Twitter account and a blog all under the same name. I am so glad and driven to learn and use more technology.

So don't forget Tito y la escuela is now Primero Bilingüe!

Start your own TpT store

I started my TpT store a few years ago, but haven't really put a lot of effort on it. Shame on me!

I signed as a Premium Seller almost a year ago and I have seen the rewards it brings. I spend a lot of money buying things from awesome sellers, so now that I am making money from my products I don't feel super bad fro spending that much.

I am in the process of improving myself, my products and taking my TpT store more seriously. I read a post by Erica Bohrer and it has helped me to better understand what I need to do. It's a must read if you want to get started on TpT. Here's the link: http://ericabohrer.blogspot.mx/2014/02/getting-started-on-tpt.html

It's a win win situation. I encourage you to start right now and you can later encourage your friends.

As bilingual educators we need more bilingual authors and sharing our products on TpT is the best way to build a stronger bilingual community.

If you decide to do it, please use this referral link: (click on the image)

Saying goodbye

Saying goodbye is never easy.

I have been working for almost 8 years at the same school. I have seen several administrators coming and leaving, many teachers, and a lot of kiddos.

I am saying goodbye to my coworkers, GREAT FRIENDS, my students, my beautiful school and the city where I lived for several years.

I can’t help but cry, yes I am happy and excited for the new things that may come, but I am also sad because I don’t know when I am going to say hello to my JISD friends again.

Here are two quotes that resume how I feel right now.

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. ~Carol Sobieski and Thomas Meehan, Annie

Why can’t we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn’t work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos. ~Charles M. Schulz

And here’s how 5 years of teaching looks like. I still have some more things in the classroom that I need to bring home.
